Security Audit

A security audit is a routine that is used to measure how an organisations security policy is used and if at all exploited at a specific location. Security audit inspectors work with the full working knowledge of the company, with inside information, in order to understand the systems to be audited.

Security audits don’t happen in a closed area, they become part of the day-to-day process of the working environment. This is not just a conference room activity. The audit involves everyone who uses any kind of resources within a business premises. Due to the fact that security systems are installed in places to not be beaten, it makes an audit difficult and can sometimes hinder employees going about their business. Security audits provide a great deal of information about how systems can fail or where vulnerabilities may be. External security audits have become a fair and measurable way to examine how secure a site really is.

Security auditors could perform some aspects of their work though holding personal interviews with employees, an examination of operating settings, analyses of any shared assets and any existing records. Security policies and how they are implemented or enforced - the basis of any security system, primarily concern the auditors.
