Paediatric First Aid (2 day course)

The National Standards for Under 8s Day care and Childminding require that all childminders hold a current first aid qualification. Ashgrove Health provides training which meets this requirement, addressing a syllabus which has been developed in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Sure Start guidelines.
 
Subjects covered include:

  • Teaching how to resuscitate babiesDealing with emergencies
  • Resuscitating babies and children
  • Dealing with airway problems such as choking, anaphylaxis and asthma
  • Treating wounds and bleeding
  • Objects in the eyes, ears or nose
  • Bites and stings
  • Febrile convulsions
  • Medical conditions such as meningitis, epilepsy, sickle cell anaemia and diabetes
